Acupuncture for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD

Acupuncture for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (C.O.P.D.)

Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center has developed successful acupuncture treatment protocols in treating C.O.P.D.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) refers to chronic bronchitis and emphysema, a pair of two commonly co-existing diseases of the lungs in which the airway become narrowed. It is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe, cough with mucus, wheezing, chest tightness, and other symptoms.

How Does Acupunture Work for C.O.P.D.?

Acupuncture improves the efficiency of the blood in exchanging oxygen; decreases mucous production in lungs; improves efficiency of tissues using oxygen, and decreases congestion and inflammation that causes C.O.P.D.

Course of treatment

There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
