Acupuncture for Weight Gain Marasmus Protein Energy Malnutrition

Acupuncture for Weight Gain/Marasmus/Protein-Energy Malnutrition

Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center has developed successful acupuncture treatment protocols in treating weight gain.
The malnutrition associated with marasmus leads to extensive tissue and muscle wasting, variable edema, as well as includes dry skin, growth retardation or impaired immunity. It can be either a hormone problem (insulin, thyroid, cortisol) or a digestive hormones problems.

How does acupuncture work for Weight Gain?

Acupuncture improves digestion by improving motility, the production of digestive enzymes, and the absorption of nutrition’s substances. Acupuncture balances metabolism and improves the symptoms of circulation and nerve systems too. Acupuncture treats not only the symptoms but also the complications of the disorder, including infections, dehydration, and circulation disorders.

Course of treatment

There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
