Acupuncture for Premenstrual Syndrome PMS

Acupuncture for Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Premenstrual syndrome refers to a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms related to woman’s menstrual cycle. Physical symptoms include but not limited to: headache, bloating, breast tenderness, food craving, and constipation. Emotional symptoms include: mood swings, sleep problems, anxiety, stress, and difficulty concentrating.

How does acupuncture work for Premensrual Syndrome?

Acupuncture helps to reduce both the physical and emotional symptoms caused by premenstrual syndrome. Acupuncture helps restore balance to the hormones and female endocrine system; balances body meridians which play important roles in regulating the menstrual cycle and tonify the energy and blood.

Course of treatment

Usually it takes about 3 menstrual cycles in twice a week basis for treating premenstrual syndrome. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
