Acupuncture for spotting and excessive bleeding/ dysfunctional uterine bleeding/heavy, prolonged bleeding/irregular menstrual periods

Dr. Shan Kong’s specialty is in treating disease of gynecology, dysfunctional uterine bleeding; heavy, prolonged bleeding, spotting or irregular menstrual periods. The bleeding or spotting that occurs between periods or after menopause can be caused by various problems: hormonal disorders – conditions such as underactive thyroid (low thyroid function), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and hyperprolactinemia; ovulatory dysfunction; endometriosis; infection – including chlamydia or pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); fibroids; polyps; pre or during menopause, stress or cancer.

How Does Acupuncture Work For Spotting And Excessive Bleeding?

Acupuncture treatment is a therapy without any of the potentially harsh side-effects of hormone replacement therapy. Acupuncture balances hormone, brain chemistries, Yin and Yang levels to significant reduce or get rid of abnormal bleeding or spotting; increase energy and function of ovarian; reduce inflammation or infection; shrink or disappear fibroids or polyps; also decline symptoms of menopause, such as hot flushes and vaginal dryness; releases stress, and calms the mood.

Course of treatment

There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
