Acupuncture for Allergies

Acupuncture for Allergies

Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center specializes in treating Allergies.
Allergy is a disorder of the immune system. Allergic reactions occur to environmental substances known as allergens; Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma, food allergies. Mild allergies like hay fever are highly prevalent in the human population and cause symptoms such as allergic conjunctivitis, itchiness, sneezing and runny nose. Allergies can play a major role in conditions such as asthma.

How does acupuncture work for Allergies?

Acupuncture can help Allergies in a few ways. It can help stabilize the cells that release histamine (the chemical that causes most allergy symptoms). Acupuncture can also improve the immune systems control over allergy reactions. Acupuncture can improve the processing of allergens in our digestive tract as well. This allows more tolerance of other allergens.

Course of treatment

There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
