Acupuncture for Infertility
Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center has developed successful method of acupuncture combining electro- acupuncture and traditional acupuncture whose points are selected based on individual conditions, to assist couples who desire to conceive naturally, or with the assistance of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) or Intro-Uterine Insemination (IUI). These acupuncture treatments are implemented according to each patient’s presenting pattern and desired method of conception.
Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center success rate was 82.75%, based on her study of 120 infertile patients of IVF. This is more than double the average success rate in the U.S. for IVF (The Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention cite a 41% success rate for IVF ). For couples who want a natural pregnancy, the success rate is higher if both partners are treated. In Western medicine, male imbalances are usually not fully evaluated or are ignored.
How does acupuncture work for Infertility?
The acupuncture infertility treatments promote the following physical changes:
Course of treatment
Assistance with IVF or IUI patients will require at least 12 acupuncture sessions before the embryos transfer or IUI insemination. If sperm are provided by the husband, it is the most beneficial for the couple to have joint acupuncture treatments. Since acupuncture improves the quantity and quality of sperm and improves the overall quality of the semen, it increases the chances of creating a healthy, viable embryo and assists in a more secure implantation. Patients who wish to become pregnant naturally will require 24 acupuncture sessions, twice a week for 12 weeks. Then doctors of Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center will reassess the progress of the acupuncture infertility treatments. Again, treating both the male and female is extremely important for the effectiveness of all the acupuncture infertility treatments. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
